KUNG FU
TRADITIONAL KUNG FU
XINGYI QUAN BAGUA ZHANG
Training in the traditional martial arts of the renowned Shaolin Monastery located at the foot of the SongShan Mountains in China's Henan province.
Practising Shaolin arts includes both ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ practices. So expect a mix between heavy sweating and occasionally clearing your mind.
After all, Shaolin is also the birthplace of Chan Buddhism (or Zen in Japan).
The focus is on physical preparation through basic exercises (Jibengong) and practising martial forms (Taolu), with or without weapons.
The foundations thus laid will make you more limber, stronger, more agile and better coordinated so that afterwards you will find any other style, or sport, easier.
And meanwhile, you also ensure that a historical and cultural heritage survives in you.
To avoid misunderstandings: We only train ‘old school’ Shaolin and no modern Wushu is offered.
The classes are suitable for young people from secondary school up to retired people and everyone in between.
Wednesdays and Fridays 17:15 until 18:30
